December 5, 2008: The final exam will be available in the Assignments list on OWL-Space on December 10, 2008. It is due at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2008.
November 25, 2008: The Othello tournament has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 10 AM in Symonds 1.
November 20, 2008: Mathias has a scheduling conflict on Monday, December 8. He will not hold office hours on that day. We also have to change the date for the Othello tournament. Please take the survey sent to you by email to indicate your preference. If you did not receive the email with the survey link, please contact Mathias.
November 10, 2008: Please consider taking my class COMP 402: Production Programming in the Spring 2009 semester.
November 7, 2008: For homework #6 and #7, you may work in pairs. Please send an email to comp202 at rice dot edu informing us who you will be working with.
November 3, 2008: The solutions for the midterm exam are now available.
November 2, 2008: An extra credit assignment has been added and will count towards the midterm grade. It is due on November 10, 2008, in class.
October 14, 2008: The final exam will be a 5-hour take-home open notes, open computer exam during the finals period. It will be made available for download on the exam resources website at the beginning of the final exam period on Wednesday, December 10. It is due at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, December 17.
October 6, 2008: The midterm exam has been scheduled for Monday, October 20, during our regular lab period from 3:30 PM to 5 PM. It is an in-class, open notes, open computer exam.
October 3, 2008: Starting next week, Mathias has changed the time he holds office hours.
August 9, 2008: The lectures and labs for COMP 202 will be held in Sewall Hall 207 (Symonds I teaching lab). Please note that room 207 is in the basement; it is most easily accessible by the staircase into the courtyard (see map cutout; entire Rice campus map; picture of Sewall Hall courtyard;).
April 20, 2008: COMP 202 has been scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM, and a mandatory lab will be held on Mondays from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

This is a tentative schedule for the topics to be covered in lecture, labs and assignments. This schedule will be revised as necessary and is given only as a reference for past topics and a guideline for future topics.
Assignments are given on the day after the previous assignment was due. Homework 1 is assigned on the first day of class.
Assignments are due by the BEGINNING of class on the due date, i.e. at 9:59 AM.
